Police have detained a man accused of shooting three people near the northern Miami city on Monday afternoon.
“The department is confident that all of our parties involved in police custody,” North Miami Mayor Alix Desulme said in a Monday night statement.
At about 4:15 p.m., three people were shot in the area of Northeast 123rd Street and Fifth Avenue. North Miami Police Major Kessler Brooks said when officers arrived, they found three people between the ages of 30 and 50 with gunshot wounds.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue paramedics pronounced two people dead at the scene. A third was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Rider Trauma Center where he died, Brooks said.
Police did not release details about the shooting, including the cause of the shooting and the identity of the shooters. But one woman said she was a family member of those killed and told, Miami that the shooting was caused by a “little fight” with a neighbor.
